Class Descriptions

  • Tap: Taught in combination with our jazz class this is a 60 Minute Class. This class teaches the fundamentals of tap including footwork, musicality, and rhythm. Ages 6 and up.

  • Jazz: Taught in combination with our tap class this is a 60 minute class. Our jazz classes teach dance technique, terminology and style with an emphasis on proper technique, alignment and movement quality. Ages 6 and up.

  • Pre School Tap, Jazz, and Ballet: 50 Minute Class. This class starts students out learning the basics of all 3 styles of dance. Children will learn about rhythm, timing, vocabulary, and spacing. Classes are set in a fun and age appropriate learning environment. Ages 3 to 5.

  • Ballet: 60 Minute Class. Being the foundation of most forms of dance, students will learn barre and center work.  Dancers will build a foundation for ballet including proper alignment, ballet etiquette, and vocabulary. Ages 6 and up.

  • Pointe: 60 Minute Class: All pointe classes are designed for students with previous ballet training. Students will utilize previously learned ballet technique while working in pointe shoes. Each class includes barre exercises, center floor work and across the floor combinations. These exercises focus on strengthening the feet and ankles. *Instructor Placement Required*

  • Hip Hop: 60 Minute Class. This is a high energy type of dance, originating from funk and street dance. The classes focus on different stylized techniques, rhythm, and isolations. Hip Hop class encourages dancers to engage in freestyle to help build style and confidence. Ages 6 and up.

  • Lyrical: 60 Minute Class. Lyrical is an expressive style of dance that allows the dancer to interpret and express the emotions, lyrics and story associated with a piece of music. This class includes a proper warm-up, stretches, isolations and across-the-floor progressions. Ages 6 and up.

  • Contemporary: 60 Minute Class. Contemporary is a fluid form of dance where the dancer is taught to interpret his or her movement with feeling, motion and style. They will learn to tell a story or create the picture of the song. This style combines the fluid beauty of ballet with the more sharp moves in jazz and the shapes and technique of modern dance. Ages 12 and up.

  • Musical Theater: 60 Minute Class. Musical Theater dance classes focus on learning proper dance technique while exploring the various dance styles and music used in Broadway shows. Emphasis will also be placed on learning performance skills such as connecting with the audience and telling a story through dance and facial expressions. Ages 6 and up.
